Jenny Meadows headlines Oxford BMC line-upPublished by
A look ahead to the next British Milers’ Club Grand Prix meetingThe women’s 800m has been a strong feature in the British Milers’ Club Grand Prix series this summer and the next meeting, in Oxford on Saturday (July 18), should see more of the same. Jenny Meadows, who is top of the UK 2015 rankings with her 1:59.21 from the indoor season, heads the entry list and will be looking for a fast time after her recent sixth place at the Sainsbury’s British Championships. In addition, Shelayna Oskan-Clarke, who ran a 2:00.90 PB in Lucerne recently, New Zealand international Nikki Hamblin and Katy Brown are among those entered. The men’s 800m includes former GB international Anthony Whiteman, who won the Watford B race that evening and scooped the 200 Best of British bonus, plus the likes of James Ledingham and Sean Molloy. The men’s mile features Ross Millington, Cameron Boyek, who finished seventh over 1500m in Tallinn, Adam Hickey, Luke Gunn and Frenchman Guillaume Adam, who is currently running for Ealing, Southall & Middlesex. There will also be a separate veteran mile plus the Peter Coe and Frank Horwill mile events for under-17 boys and under-17 girls respectively. The meeting starts earlier than normal at 3pm.
