Ashton Eaton, Allyson Felix, Justin Gatlin and Christian Taylor among the American athletes who head to Beijing this month

Ashton Eaton and David Oliver are among the American athletes who will be defending their world titles in Beijing later this month, with USA having named a 130-strong team for the IAAF World Championships.

Also among the 2013 champions on the team are LaShawn Merritt (400m), Brittney Reese (long jump) and Brianna Rollins (100m hurdles).

Allyson Felix, the eight-time world gold medallist, has been named for both the 200m and 400m, while Olympic triple jump champion Christian Taylor will look to regain the world title he claimed in 2011. Justin Gatlin, the world No.1 in both the 100m and 200m this year, has had his places for both sprint events confirmed.

Among the athletes missing from the team list is world 800m silver medallist Nick Symmonds after he refused to sign a USA Track & Field statement of conditions which relates to athletes wearing team uniforms at all team functions.
