Olympian to share her knowledge and love of Ethiopia during two training camps at Limalimo Lodge in the Simien Mountains National Park

Julia Bleasdale is a huge fan of training in Ethiopia and now, following a partnership with Limalimo Lodge, the Olympian is set to share her knowledge and passion with other runners and host two altitude training camps in the Simien Mountains National Park.

The London 2012 Olympic 5000m and 10,000m eighth-placer will be returning to Ethiopia this autumn and in early 2016 as she continues to work towards the Olympic Games in Rio. Guided runs, talks and training insights from Bleasdale form part of the camps, while the 33-year-old is also keen to get involved with Limalimo Lodge’s commitment to supporting the local community and will also host a training session with local schoolgirls, give talks at local schools and meet with communities living in and involved with the Simien Mountains National Park.

“I’m excited to be returning to Ethiopia to continue my training ahead of the 2016 Olympics in Rio and delighted that Limalimo Lodge will be hosting me during my stay,” said Bleasdale, who will be hosting the two running weekends in November 2015 and February 2016.

“When running through the Ethiopian countryside, I regularly see community life yet have little time to stop, talk to and learn from those I pass.

“By partnering with Limalimo Lodge, I’ll be able to visit schools within the community and meet with the men, women and children that make this country so special.”

Limalimo Lodge CEO Shiferaw Asrat added: “It is a pleasure to host Julia at the Lodge, shortly after it opens this autumn.

“We are delighted that Julia will also host two running weekends during her visit, providing running enthusiasts an opportunity to see the Simien Mountains from a different perspective.”

Earlier this year Bleasdale listed Ethiopia as one of her top five places to train. You can read more about her favourite training locations here.

The first running weekend hosted by Bleasdale at Limalimo Lodge is set to take place from November 5-8, with another planned for February 2016. See www.limalimolodge.com for further information.
