Cross countryNorth East Championships, Town Moor, December 13 Jonathan Taylor, who was 12th in the European Championships in 2012 and just missed out on selection this year, won the men’s race in 38:03, five seconds ahead of Nick Swinburn. There were 355 finishers. Rosie Smith won the women’s race by a minute. Further details including a report and photographs will appear in this week’s Athletics Weekly SEAA Inter Counties Championships, December 13 Lauren Deadman won the senior women’s race in 20:48, over 100 metres clear of runner-up Georgie Bruinvels. National under-15 champion Sabrina Sinha narrowly won the under-17 girls race, outsprinting Niamh Brown. Further details including a report and photographs will appear in this week’s issue SEAA Masters Championships, Oxford, December 13 Masters international winner Chris Greenwood won the M40 title. The M50 winner in Nottingham, Ben Reynolds, dropped an age group to help Thames Hare and Hounds win the M40/M45 team race and he finished third and won M45 gold. Lucy Elliott won the veteran women’s race. Further details including a report will appear in this week’s magazine RoadTelford 10km, December 14 The men’s race was a close affair with 10 seconds covering the leading trio and the race was won by John Beattie, who represented England in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He won in 29:55. A close second was Steve Mitchell, who showed good endurance for a 3:38.27 1500m runner. He ran 30:03. Rebecca Robinson won the women’s race in 33:27. Sneyd Striders Christmas Pudding 10, December 14 Commonwealth triathlon champion Jodie Stimpson made a rare excursion to a running event and won in a time of 58:47.
