Double Olympic, world and European champion chats faster times and track aims following Zurich success

Fresh from 5000m victory at the European Championships, Mo Farah explained how he thinks he’ll be able to run faster than ever on the track in 2015.

The 31-year-old completed a ‘triple double’ on Sunday, adding the European 5000m title to his 10,000m gold from a few days before and his double world and Olympic crowns over the same distances.

Farah’s success in Zurich comes in what has been a tough season for the Newham & Essex Beagle who was forced to withdraw from a number of events including the Commonwealth Games through illness.

“I had a very difficult year,” he said “Two weeks ago there was doubt whether I would compete here so it’s awesome to come out here and win double.”

Farah made his marathon debut in London in April but in Zurich again confirmed that the track would be his focus next year, with personal best times on the cards, particularly over 10,000m.

“I think I can go a little bit faster but I don’t know how fast,” he said. “Particularly the 10km, I believe I can go a lot faster.”
